#1
“Why, Jared Hoffman, do you not want this?” I tease, slowly unbuttoning his shirt.
He smiles, his hands bracing themselves on the bed at either side of my head. “I didn’t say that... it’s just I don’t want to rush anything.”
Jared’s shirt falls open when I finally reach the last button. His perfect abs are shadowed and defined by the moonlight. My eyes start up his chest. “Rush?” I whisper softly as my hands graze their way up his biceps that frame my face. “Jare… this has been seven long years in the making. I think we’ve waited long enough.”
He pauses for a second. I hear his breath hitch in his throat as his dark eyes study my face. For some reason, I’m surprised when I feel Jared’s lips on mine. The passion between us is renewed at my admission. It’s my turn to moan against his lips. My legs automatically slide up and down his, causing my dress to hike up slightly before my legs wrap themselves around his waist. His hands make their way up my side slowly as if ingraining into memory the curve of my body. My hands have automatically found their way to his belt. I slip my fingers through it and release the hook, swinging it open. Before I know it, I’m unbuttoning his jeans. That’s when I feel his hands squeeze me tight. His lips leave mine for the first time since I spoke, and I feel them slowly trace their way down my neck. My fists clench against the skin on his waist.
“Oh, Jared,” I groan.
His body freezes above me for a fraction of a second. His head lifts out of the crook of my neck to meet my eyes again.
“Do you know how long I’ve waited to hear you call my name like that?” he whispers.
My hands find their way to his face and mingle with his hair. “There’s more where that came from.” I shoot him a sexy smirk before pulling his lips back to mine.

Excerpt:

My head is still pounding when my eyes flutter open the next day. My brain is throbbing inside my skull and I punch the pillow underneath me, scaring Jinx out of his slumber. He meows in protest before hopping off the bed. Looking around, I’m in my bed. How did I get here? I groan in pain as I prop my pillows up and lean my head back against them. It’s then that I feel the eyes on me. Tilting my head straight again, I glance out my window. My eyes lock with those big brown eyes of Jared’s across the way. He looks down to his phone and back up again. My phone chimes with an incoming text.

UGHHH!” I moan, blindly reaching for it. It slips a few times before I grasp it between my fingers and look down to read.

How are you feeling?

Closing one eye, I text back, Like someone ran over me with a truck, then backed up and ran me over again.

Lowering my phone, I watch as he smiles from my text and disappears from view. I’m trying to piece last night back together; it’s like a fragmented mirror that has shattered all over the corners of my mind. I remember laughing with Ro about her sexual conquests and then I remember red and blue lights and… Jared. Starting to feel hot, I throw the covers off of me and lay like a starfish, trying to get my mind to focus. Glancing down, I notice I’m wearing my pajamas. Before I can process any further, the door to my room creaks open. Jared walks in with a cup of water and a closed fist.

How did you get in?!” I yelp, trying to sit up in bed, and pulling the covers back over my braless tank top.

I left the back door open when I left last night,” he informs me as he opens his fist to show me he brought a hand full of Advil.

You brought me home last night?” I rub my head before reaching for the pills and water.

Yup, after you called me to pick you up from the police station.”

I WAS WHERE?!” I scream as water comes spraying out of my mouth.

Police station. Apparently, you popped a guy in the face.” He smirks.

I squint my eyes, vaguely remembering the heavyset guy that tried grabbing my ass in front of the bar.

Whoa!” I have to lean my head back against my pillows when the information begins to become too much for me. “If you took me home, how did I get into pajamas?!”

The smile that crosses Jared’s face is a mixture of a blush and a sly smirk that makes my insides twist with anticipation and excitement. “Jared…”

That… you did on your own. I had nothing to do with that!” He holds his hands up in surrender.

What? I just stripped in front of you!”

Well, once you got your shirt off, there was really no stopping you…” he teases and my eyes widen in embarrassment.

Oh my God!” I slump down, pulling the covers back up to my face. “Did we… ya know…” I mutter, completely mortified now.

Uh, that would be a no.”

Oh, thank God!” I sigh.

Thanks a lot!” He comes to his feet now, turning to look out the window.

Not like that, it’s just … I don’t like to do things I’m not conscious for.”

Yea, completely plastered girls that get arrested and throw up in bushes are really sexy!” His voice drips with sarcasm.

I threw up?!” This just gets better and better.

Twice.”

Twice?” I’m mortified, staring at his amused face.

Well, after the first time I thought maybe you needed something to eat.”

Oh no…”

Yeah… I’ve never seen someone eat a Big Mac that fast before…” He stares at the wall as if remembering my weak moment.

Oh my God!” I groan, throwing the covers over my entire body. I curl up in a fetal position, planning to never come out again. The room grows silent. It’s starting to get hard to breathe under the sheets when I feel the mattress by my feet cave slightly.

Come on, it’s not that bad. We all have our moments.” He pats my feet through the sheets.

Just when I think I’ve reached rock bottom, things just seem to drops out from under me and I’m at an all new low!” I roll over, trying to pull the covers with me, but Jared’s weight prevents it. My head comes peeking out as I roll over, facing away from him.

April, I think I just determined your major.”

What?” I curiously twist to look at him again.

Drama. You’re such an actress. Now, put your big girl panties on and get up!”

I stare at him for a second; did he just say what I think he said? He waits about two seconds before getting up and opening a drawer to my dresser. “Are they in here? Nope!” He closes it and opens another.

STOP!” I scream, stumbling out of bed, horrified.

How ‘bout this one?”

Okay! Okay! I’m up!” I slam the drawer closed just in time to save myself further embarrassment when Jared eyes my plain old undergarments. I sigh when the pounding in my head launches my stomach into action and I collapse onto the corner of the bed.

You okay?”

I refuse to puke again!” I respond, taking another deep breath. “Jared…”

Yea…”

I could use some donuts.”

Okay.” He pauses for a few seconds, looking down at his feet before adding, “I’ll be outside then.”

And he leaves me alone in my room.

My Review: First let me say that this book is for Adults. That being said my review is short and sweet.  Five Chirps or Stars for this one!  I love the strong female protagonist in this story.  The story is believable and draws you in. The fact that Julia is strong enough to handle injured pro-athletes not only handle them but have them listen to her and respect her is great. I loved the detailed setting descriptions in this book, I also loved the characters they were well written and personable, the descriptions of each allow the reader to picture that character very clearly in their mind.  Looking forward to more books by Skye Jordan, Joan Swan.

Book Summary:
From New York Times bestselling author Skye Jordan, Xtreme Heroes is a brand new series starring super-hot extreme athletes and their adventures.

The Risk, Book 1:

Former Olympian turned physical therapist to the elite Julia Bailey knows all about pushing the limits. But when a sexual harassment suit costs her a dream job—not to mention her reputation—she takes on the biggest risk of her life. Rehabilitating the X Games’ most notorious bad boy might be just what she needs to secure the funds for her own treatment center. Problem is, the only kind of recovery her new client is interested in is under-the-covers freestyle—gear optional.

Daredevil snowboarder Noah Hunt is a rock star—on and off the slopes. A recent accident might have him down, but he’s far from out. He doesn’t care what the sexy therapist with the sweet curves says. He’s got sponsors to impress and trophies to collect, and taking things slow and steady just ain’t his style. A little dirty talk and a sizzling night later, Julia learns just how fast and hard he likes to play. Too bad for him, his heart goes all in, and one wrong move could cost him more than just his career.

About the Author:
Skye Jordan is a pseudonym for New York Times bestselling romantic suspense author Joan Swan. Skye’s novels are about enjoying that little wild streak we don’t let out often enough. About those fantasies we rarely get the opportunity to indulge. About stretching limits, checking out the dark side, and maybe even acting a little naughty. They’re about escape and fun and pleasure and romance.
And, yes, even love, because while wicked-great sex is good, happily ever after with wicked-great sex is even better.
Skye (aka Joan) lives on the central coast of California in the heart of wine country with her husband and two daughters. As often as possible, she retreats to a hotel with critique partners for a power-writing week where much drinking, laughing, and yes, even working, ensues. When she’s not writing, Skye goes to breakfast with her hubby, attends her daughters’ barrel races, and spends a lot of time with her own horse, Riddle…while her two dogs, Paxton and Indie, tag along. She also loves to read, knit, craft, row, ride, and dabble in photography.

Excerpt 2 from The Risk by Skye Jordan

“Seventeen,” he counted, “eighteen, nineteen, twenty.” Noah racked the weight and rolled back to the floor. While resting on all fours, he glanced up at her. “If you touch me again, I’m taking you down. Consider yourself warned.”

She was looking a little too smug when he kicked his feet into the air and then tipped into a smooth, practiced handstand beside him.

She shot him a grin and challenged, “Beat you to the wall.”

Her hands moved freely across the mat, her laugh echoing through the gym.

“You little…” He trailed off, putting all his effort into moving forward without losing his balance. But she was a good six “steps” ahead.

“Come on, Superstar,” she said, her breath heaving. “Catch me.”

He pushed his hands into a bigger reach and caught up with her. But as soon as he got close, she leaned into one hand and used the other to shove at his shoulder.

“Oh, ambush! You fight dirty.” Noah’s shoulders burned like they were on fire, but he leaned into one arm long enough to reach out and grip the side of her waist.

She squealed and pushed his hand away, but she was too far off-balance and collapsed, rolling to the floor in a scream of defeat.

Quicker than he could regain his own balance, she reached up and pulled at his shorts, and Noah followed her to the floor.

He landed in a pile, half on top of her, half beside her, their legs tangled. They were both breathing hard, laughing, spent.

“That doesn’t count,” she said between breaths. “You didn’t win. Rematch when you’re out of reach.”

“You started it. That’s an automatic forfeit.”

She pushed up on her elbows. “You’re full of shit.” When he pushed up as well, she shoved his shoulder. “You don’t make the rules, Superstar.”

He pushed her back. “Neither do you, Fascist.”

When she reached out to push him again, he grabbed her wrist, rolled onto his back, and dragged her on top of him. With his hands gentle around her biceps, he soaked in the feel of her body sinking against his—the swell of her breasts against his chest, the press of her flat belly to his, her sex smothering his hardening erection.

He was sweaty, hot, and crossing every boundary she’d set in place today. But she didn’t scream and shove him away in disgust the way any other woman would when he’d been working out. No, this chick just grinned down at him with decadent, heavy-lidded eyes.

“Quick moves, Superst—”

He lifted his head and pressed his lips to hers. They were soft and warm and sweet, and they moved beneath his in a tentative kiss. Her long dark eyelashes curved against the creamy skin along her cheekbone, and Noah let his own eyes close. He slid his fingers into her silky hair, then tilted his head and took the kiss deeper. She opened to him with a sigh, tantalizing his mouth with sweet heat, and his mind hazed over. Their tongues met, stroked, swirled. She tasted like chocolate and heat and lust. And in that moment Noah knew he’d need all night with her. One round would never be enough.

She slid one arm around his head, dropping into the kiss as if she needed him to breathe. Noah groaned into her mouth, tightened his arm around her lower back, and lifted his hips into hers. She drew a sharp breath and broke the kiss, whispering his name against his cheek. She pushed against his abdomen and sat up. Her legs parted; her knees pressed to the mat alongside his hips. The position only added pressure to his cock, and he reflexively pushed into the weight.

“Oh wow…” She ran a hand through her hair, pushing it off her face. “This seemed like a better idea in my head.”

“I love the fact that it’s been in your head.” Noah pulled himself into a sitting position and wrapped both arms around her. With only an inch between them, he said, “But I like it better outside your head.”

Then he kissed her again, moving his lips over hers, licking across the smooth surface until he coaxed her open again. Another one of those sexy sighs flowed from her mouth, and triumph lightened his head. She explored him with luscious suckles, deep, erotic strokes of her tongue, and teasing licks. Noah had forgotten how good kissing could be. How sensual. How exciting.

Her arms closed around his shoulders, her hands scraped into his hair—his damp, sweaty hair—and she moaned into his mouth. Damn, she was deliriously sexy. He let his hands roam and found her as perfect as she looked, her body all hard planes and toned curves. Gripping her hips, he pulled her close again, fitting their bodies intimately. A feathery moan drifted from her mouth as she broke the kiss. Her eyes closed, her head fell sideways, and her brow tightened in pleasure.

Lust blasted through Noah’s lower body, spearing his cock, flooding his hips, shooting up his spine. He lifted into her, rubbing against her, and they groaned at the same time.

All Noah’s initial thoughts of slow and all night spiraled into a tight ball of right now. Right. Fucking. Now.

His hands slid beneath her top, pushed up, cupped her breasts—bare, full, perfect breasts. “Holy hell,” he muttered against her neck, nipping her there. “You’re so hot.”

“Noah…” she said, her voice languid at first, then sharpening. “Shit, wait.”

He froze, hands on her sides, thumbs on her breasts, mouth on her neck, cock throbbing against her pussy. “Yeah?”

“Wow, that got out of hand fast,” she breathed and leaned back, pulling her hair off her face. Her flushed, gorgeous face. “I’m sorry.”

He looked up at her, stroked the curves of her breasts with his thumbs. “Nothing to be sorry about. You’re perfect. You’re beautiful. I want you. You want me. We’re all good here.”

But she wasn’t convinced. A little vertical frown line crept between her brows, and the spark in her eyes had drifted away.

Noah cupped her face in both hands and lifted her eyes to his. “I know what you’re thinking, but I wasn’t with Samantha last night.”

She shook her head. “Not my business—”

“It’s your business if it’s keeping you from saying yes now.”

God, this was bizarre. He never explained himself to a woman. His motto had always been take it or leave it. But he wanted Julia right now so badly, he could taste it on the back of his tongue. Too hard up for too long, that was what this was. Yet a little voice in his head whispered, You didn’t even try to wake Samantha when she fell asleep on you.

“Listen,” he said, forcing his voice soft. “It happened just like I told you earlier. I brought her home, yes. I fully intended to have sex with her, yes. But we passed out before anything happened. I didn’t have sex with her. I haven’t had sex with anyone since before the accident.”

Shit, he’d lost control of his mouth. Of his mind. That wasn’t sexy. Nothing about desperation was sexy. She said nothing, just kept frowning at him, the wheels of her mind spinning in the background.

Noah pulled her hand from her hair and curled it into his, kissing her knuckles. “And I’m not your client. You don’t even want me as a client. You’re still hell-bent on leaving tomorrow?”

That seemed to sober her. Those pretty eyes, warm as caramel, sharpened. She sighed, looked away, nodded.

He drew her gaze back to his. “Then give me tonight. Nothing more. Just two people hot for each other spending the night together.”

Title: Chronicles of Steele: Raven: The Complete Story

Author: Pauline Creeden

Genre: Steampunk Fantasy

My review:  I just finished this series and I have to say it is worth five chirp's or stars! Loved it! The characters are well developed and it was easy to connect with the lead protagonist Raven. I loved the concept and having a strong female lead who not only can hold her own with men but is better than the men is wonderful. Raven is a Reaper a job most often associated with men not only is she a reaper she is perhaps the best reaper, only one other may have been better than her and that would be her father.  This book jumps right into the action and just keeps going which is another reason I love it. The setting of the book is very creative and unique. This is the complete series in one book so no buying three other books just to finish the story because it is all here. Grab this one if you love action and fantasy. I will be picking up other books from this author. Excellent book!!!

This is the complete Steampunk Fantasy novel - all four parts of the serial in one volume!

Human life has value.
The poor living in the gutter are as valuable as the rich living in a manor.
The scoundrel is no less valuable than the saint.
Because of this, every life a reaper takes must be redeemed.

Raven has lived by this first tenet since she was trained by her father to become a reaper. But since his death, she’s been spending years redeeming the lives she’s taken. By her count, she’s even and it’s time for that life to end. If she settles down and becomes a wife, she might just feel human again. But on the way to the life she thinks she wants, the baron of New Haven asks her to complete a task which she cannot ignore… Just when Raven decides to give up on her life as an assassin, she’s pulled right back in.

                                    MEET CAMERON

I know I usually post a Blog for book reviews or Blog tours for a book but today I am going to post a blog about helping a little guy come to the United States to meet with World Renowned doctors in the hope of helping him become pain free and improving his quality of life.

Meet Cameron or Cam for short.      Help for Cam

Cam is a sweet boy who has a very rare genetic condition PBD (Peroxisome Biogenesis Disorder)
I know about this disease because my own daughter had it. This very disease claimed my daughters life and has claimed the lives of many other children, sadly there is no cure at this point in time but treatments have come a long way and I hope that someday there will be a cure. This disease effects every cell in the body, just think about that with each and every cell in the body not functioning properly nothing in the body works the way it should. Nutrients that are needed are not not absorbed the way they should be, kidney's, liver, bones, blood, skin, ears, eyes, teeth, hair, lungs... everything and I mean everything is effected.

Rare diseases are not given a lot of press time because well they are rare and so often are overlooked, so funding for research and media time are things that just are not there, but today you can help one child come here to our country and meet with doctors, you can help one child live a life with less pain. If you can not donate please share and help spread the word not only about this disease but also in the hope of helping this sweet boy visit our country and perhaps find some relief from his pain.  Please read below for more information about what your donation will help cover.  Thank you.

You can help Cam

The GFPD Conference, which will take place from July 17-21, 2015, is the most important and influential annual gathering for families affected by Peroxisome Biogenesis Disorder – Zellweger Spectrum Disorder (PBD-ZSD) and the doctors and researchers who treat & study the disorder. The conference encourages the exchange of personal experiences and provides scientific updates about the progress of PBD-ZSD research work and available medical options.
This year’s conference will host internationally recognized physicians, scientists, and professionals including:
• Dr. Gerald Raymond from The University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota
• Dr. Nancy Braverman from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec
• Dr. Bill Rizzo from The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska
• Dr. Eric Rush from The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska
• Dr. Joe Hacia from The University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California
• Ann Moser, B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
• Dr. Richard Rachubinski from The University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta
• Dr. Michael Wangler from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas
• Linda Alsop, Director of Deaf-Blind Programs, from Utah State University in Logan, Utah
• Jeffrey Simmons, M.A.,CCC-A, from the Lied Learning & Technology Center in Omaha, Nebraska
The goal of the 2015 conference is to introduce families to professionals who support individuals with PBD-ZSD in the areas of genetics, metabolic specialty, neurology, vision, hearing, physical and occupational therapy, education, grief support, and palliative care. Additionally, families will have ongoing opportunities to connect and support each other through group activities and sessions.
The GFPD is partnering with The United Leukodystrophy Foundation and International Peroxisome Scientists, as they, too, are hosting conferences at The Embassy Suites Downtown/Old Market concurrent with the GFPD Conference. We have planned activities with these groups to facilitate community building and support across the organizations.
Medical appointments are available at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, which is a big draw to the conference for many participants. Clinic visits with Dr. William Rizzo (Metabolic Specialty), Dr. Eric Rush (Genetics/Bone Density/DEXA Scans), & Dr. Donny Suh (Ophthalmology/OCT Scans) give families access to gifted professionals who treat and study PBD-ZSD.
Please consider supporting the Anderson family in their journey to the GFPD Conference. As children with PBD-ZSD surprise many and surpass ages never thought possible upon diagnosis, it is important for families to have ongoing support - medically and emotionally - to care for their child transitioning to adulthood.
With hope,
Shannon Butalla, President
The Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders

On the 23rd May I'm going to do a skydive from 15,000ft to raise money for the GFPD (global foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders) this is a charity which specializes in Cam's condition Peroxisomal Biogenesis Disorder, the family need to raise enough funds through the charity to get Cameron to America as this maybe his last chance that he will be able to travel due severe bone pain and hip problems, as my family and close friends that know me know that this is a real challenge for me but I really want to do this for Cam and his family,  Cam is such a wonderful and amazing young lad that me and my family are so fond of and his parent's are pretty amazing too!! I really want to raise as much money as I can to show them how much we want to get them to America, I would be truly grateful if you would sponsor me no matter how little, if the family don't raise enough money in time then all the proceeds will go to the GFPD charity to help benefit other families with children with Cam's condition,

Info from Tash ( Cam's mum)

HOW THIS WILL HELP
Cam's disorder is very rare. We will have the opportunity to see physicians and scientists who specialize in his rare disease called a Peroxisomal Biogenesis Disorder. Not only will we be supported by world renowned medical professionals at the conference, Cam will also be seen in a specialty clinic to help him with all the things that come with age and PBD at the Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  I am hoping that we will be able to find a solution or a plan to help combat the severe pain that Cam suffers daily due to bone pain and hip subluxation; something we've struggled to get on top of here in the UK despite our doctors and specialists best efforts.
We will also have the opportunity to meet and network with other families faced with the same devastating disorder to provide support to us as a family.
There won't be another chance like this for another two years at least, and we don't know what state his bones/hips/joints will be like at that point so if we're going to do a long trip it needs to be this year really. It's a long shot, but if we don't raise the funds in time, anything we do raise will go straight to the GFPD, (Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders) an amazing Charity who raise funds to help families with children with Cam's condition as well as funding much needed research on this rare disease.

Author:         Nana Malone
Release Date:         March 2, 2015
Genre:            Contemporary Romance

My review of this book: Nana never fails to write an entertaining story. Her characters are always well developed and easy to relate too. I loved the story line for this one and the characters were well suited for each other.  Please note that this book is not suitable for minors in my opinion due to the sexual content.  This book is a 5 star for sure.

Book Summary:

A romantic who believes in love…

Walking love disaster, Mia Donovan, is a reality television production assistant by day, secret dating blogger, Lonely Girl, by night.  All she has to do to get the job of a lifetime is face her fears and step in front of the camera. Unfortunately that also means dating her nemesis, Single Guy, for the entire world to see.

A cynic giving love advice…

Reluctant, dating columnists, Ryan Matthews, otherwise known as Single Guy, thinks reality-dating shows are soul-sucking endeavors that have more to do with selling unrealistic expectations than love. But for a shot at writing serious stories, he’s willing to go undercover on Love Reality to do an exposé on the dating competition. What he doesn’t count on, is falling in love.

About the Author

USA Today Bestselling Author Nana Malone’s love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she borrowed from her cousin on a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana at a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick butt heroines ever since.

With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters. Waiting for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, Nana meantime works out her drama, passion, and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.

Nana is the author of twenty novels. And the books in her series have been on multiple Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble bestseller lists as well as the iTunes Breakout Books list and most notably the USA Today Bestseller list.

Excerpt 3 from Love Reality

When all was said and done, there was the usual assortment of good-looking surfer boy CEOs and investment banker types, business men, pilots, a couple in the military. Not a single one of them would be considered average in the looks department, but then, this was television. And the producers had even provided a smattering of color with Tyrell, Marcus, Miguel, who was Hispanic, and finally Channing, who appeared to be Asian.
She shifted uncomfortably.  The damn shoes pinched.  Note to self.  Last time she gave Jamie Lee final say on her wardrobe.
The last limo rolled up, and by now Mia was relaxed enough to smile genuinely.  This part hadn’t been nearly as scary as she'd thought it would be. Even if the guys were surprised to see her, they mostly recovered quickly.
The hairs on her arms stood at attention when the limousine door opened.  From her position, she couldn't clearly see the guy’s face, but he was one of the tallest. The smooth way he exited the limo told her he moved like an athlete. It wasn't until she turned around fully that her stomach lurched. Oh, God. No no no.
He stopped in his tracks the moment he caught sight of her. Before he continued forward up the stairs, he dragged in deep breath.  In his hands, he held an orchid.
His gaze met hers, and Mia completely forgot about the cameras.  All she could do was stare.  He brushed a kiss on her cheek, near her ear.
"It seems I am at a complete loss for words, you're so beautiful." Carefully, he fixed the flower to her hair and stood back. "It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Ryan."
Mia blinked. Then again. He had no right to smell so good and look so good. This was not according to plan. Not at all. As her body struggled for equilibrium, her brain remained rock steady. He was here.
But he wouldn't be staying.  Mia would make sure of it.
